Uhh-booom

For the last few weeks we have compared Lincoln and Mac to a Penn and Teller comedy routine. Lincoln talks up a storm and Mac watches him attentively and smiles - until this weekend. On Saturday we heard an 'Uhh booom' ish noise. Naturally, I thought that it was Lincoln until I entered the room and saw that it was Mac. I was completely surprised. It is so funny to watch him make his cute little noise, I especially love watching him push out his cute little lips and raise his eyebrows in an effort to squeeze out every last bit of air. He is just too cute. Now, Mac is making noise and Linc sits back and takes in it:)

Lincolns new teeth

For almost a month poor baby Mac has been in constant pain due to teething and there seems to be nothing that helps with the pain (although we have tried it all and own every teething contraption on the market). Its been breaking my heart! This entire time Lincoln has been his usual giggling happy little self. Yesterday I pick him up and almost fall over. Lincoln has two bottom teeth that have already come through his gums. Complete shock! I kept saying to Ryan "If Linc is teething, we sure dont know about it" and sure enough he has been. It never ceases to amaze me just how different these two little boys are!

Our 1st Halloween!

Typically, Halloween consists of sitting on the front porch, in decent Atlanta weather, enjoying a glass of wine/Jack and ginger while we watch the trick-or-treaters run front house to house on their way to ours. Last year was different...no wine - I had just found out I was pregnant (two days later I would learn it was twins!) so we dragged the fire pit to the front yard and sat around it while handing out treats.

This year was completely different, we had two little monkeys to show off and help us pass out treats! Dispite the freezing cold Ohio weather and the furious wind coming off the lake, Linc and Mac dressed in PJ's covered with their adorable monkey constumes, I was in my momma monkey get up and Ryan brought us all together as a doctor...yup, we were "No more monkeys jumping on the bed" - which is ironic as I am certain there will be many calls to the doctor for jump on and off beds!

We had a great Halloween, the first of many to come!

This might be the most annoying cute video we have made. Linc and Mac LOVES when Ryan does this (it makes my ears bleed), its so funny though. I love how they seem to always know when I am recording and stare at the camera:)

Atlanta Aquarium

While in Atlanta last week we met up with Jade and Livi at the aquarium. Lincoln and Mac were crazy about the fish in the entrance and it was immediately decided that we had to get them their own aquarium once we were home! They are loving it.

Vacation

We have been so busy! In the two months we have logged over 5,000 miles in the car with our wonderful travelers headed to Washington, DC, Gettsburgh and Antiedam Battlefields, Harpers Ferry, Coopers Rock, the WVU football kick off rally (Go Eers!) then back home for a week. We then headed back to the east coast for a wonderful vacation at Nags Head then dropped Ryan off in CT for a training and then the boys and I continued on up to the Adirondacks for a week, followed by a return trip to CT to get Ryan and then home. Two weeks later we headed home to Atlanta. Its been crazy, you can only imagine how wonderful Lincoln and Mac are to travel such distances to soak in Civil War sites, lay on the beach and visit family. Needless to say, Ryan and I have reduced packing to the bare neccessities and mastered feeding and changing both boys at a rest stop in 20 minutes or less!

Due to my inability to post pictures and keep up on blogging, this blog will be a compilation of the last two months of travel minus the Adirondacks and Atlanta.

Lincoln and Mac, September 29th, 2010. The boys are not sleeping as much as they once did, instead Lincoln keeps Mac up with his stories and Mac listens attentively!

Things have changed around The Whitney house! Lincoln has begun giggling, well giggle on the border of a full blown laugh. Enjoy.

Little Fashionista

This morning the boys and I were doing our weekly run through Target to buy our 6 can supply of formula. As usual, I took a quick peek at the baby clothes to see if there was anything we couldnt live without and saw the sweetest little baby hat. Now I have come to realize that little boys look amazingly cute in any hat, especially my boys who almost regularly wear bucket hats, baseball caps or those sweet little cloth hats similar to the ones they are given at the hospital. So, I pick up this brown, fuzzy fleece hat that has monkey ears and a monkey face. The tag says 12-18months but anyone who has ever seen the sheer size of Lincoln and Mac understands that we dont necessarily follow clothing size guides. Since Lincoln is asleep in the large part of the cart and Mac is wide awake in the upper portion of the cart, I put the hat on Macs head to see if the 12-18 month size would accomodate the Whitney Boys at 6months. Mackey instantly get this huge smile on his face and starts laughing which makes me burst out laughing. I later told Ryan "Mac was so happy you would have thought there was a circle on his head or something" - That is how delighted this little boy was over this hat. I found this very funny because, as I mentioned, the boys wear hats all the time...leading me to draw one conclusion, Mac loved this hat - specifically - this hat.

So, I take a picture and send it to Ryan so he is included in Macs excitement and I take the hat off his head. The minute the hat was removed, my happy happy baby instantly stuck out his bottom lip and looked as though he was going to cry. I quickly put "his" hat back on, threw another one in the cart (hey, if Mac likes it so much, surely Lincoln might think its kinda cool too!), and let Mac wear it to the check out line. He almost seemed to be proud of his new hat, it was hysterical.

Three Months Old

Mommy and Daddy have one question, "Where has the time gone?" The boys are three months old today and growing so fast. Lincoln, born at 6lbs, 6oz currently weighs 15lbs and Mac, born at 6lbs even is weighing in at 13lbs, 1oz. They are smiling constantly and really starting to giggle, which Ryan and I cant get enough of. Here are a few pictures from the park today, enjoy!
